The warrior, the king, the priest and the lover
Scattered with the wind, on down to the river
Never knowing they might meet up with each other
Until they flowed to the ocean of peace
Until they came to the ocean of peace
Countless young warriors went off over seas
Bound and determined to the Tigris and Euphrates
But as they came home with the war still unseen
So far from the ocean of peace
So far from the ocean of peace
She met a young soldier who’s wounds had not healed
He was blinded by his pain, which he shielded with his anger
She brought him back from the edge
Looked him square in his eyes
And she showed him an ocean of peace
He caught a glimpse of the ocean of peace
You might meet someone derelict and alone
You don’t know where they’ve been
You don’t know what they’ve known
But come home to yourself and if you look deep enough
You can bring them and ocean of peace
You can show them and ocean of peace
The warrior, the king, the priest and the lover
Scattered with the wind, on down to the river
Never knowing they might meet up with each other
When they flowed to the ocean of peace
When they came to the ocean of peace

These are exceptionally good (nearly- instrumental) vignettes played with so much finesse and grace. Pieces to carry you far and wide to wonderful places that live on the borderlands of typical Bluegrass tunes, but are all the better for it. The first track is absolutely perfect accompaniment for any late afternoon or evening Autumnal stroll or window staring musings.
Fans of early Grisman or early Tony Rice instrumentals take note. Joe Borreson
