Saw your face on a billboard sign
Barely recognized your smile
Homesick blues behind your eyes
You’re up the road about half a mile
Wayward girl in a cotton dress
Played the devil’s last request
Danced with one but you left the rest
Moonlight child on a midnight quest
Saw another side of you
Rumbled like a 502
Turnin all them heads around
You should hear the talk in town
Heard you on the radio
All the places we don’t go
Getting ready for the show
Louise, you brought us to our knees
Oh, we still miss you so
We still miss you so
Gypsy curses, family names
Songbirds in the silver rain
Lonely tears and your mothers grief
Fell just like a dogwood leaf

These are exceptionally good (nearly- instrumental) vignettes played with so much finesse and grace. Pieces to carry you far and wide to wonderful places that live on the borderlands of typical Bluegrass tunes, but are all the better for it. The first track is absolutely perfect accompaniment for any late afternoon or evening Autumnal stroll or window staring musings.
Fans of early Grisman or early Tony Rice instrumentals take note. Joe Borreson
